By Cab (or Taxi)

There are several local taxi companies, such as Alpha (telephone: +44 151 722 8888), Excel (telephone: +44 151 728 8888) and Delta (telephone: +44 151 922 7373). Uber and hackney carriage (known as black cab) are also available in Liverpool. Ask the driver to take you to your hotel or, if coming directly to the conference, to Brownlow Hill and Peach Street.

Important News: Rail Works until 29th July

Liverpool Lime street station is undergoing a major reconstruction, journeys through Lime Street station may be affected until 29th July. During this period, you will still be able to get where you want to go. The plan is to keep passengers on trains wherever possible, diverting many mainline rail services to Liverpool South Parkway (when purchasing tickets please select ‘Liverpool all stations’) and getting people to and from the city on the Merseyrail ‘metro’ network. Where rail replacement buses are required, they will be high quality, and offer express options, to make sure you can complete your journey as quickly as possible. By Train

If you are travelling from within the U.K., you may want to consider taking the train. We recommend the following website: https://www.thetrainline.com to check for train schedules and tickets.

As mentioned above, please be mindful of rail works occuring during this time. It is likely that trains will experience delays or detours or both. When purchasing tickets please select ‘Liverpool all stations’.

By Coach (National Express)

The main (only) company is National Express. Check http://www.nationalexpress.com for schedules and tickets. The bus stops at the Liverpool One bus station, which is a 20 minute walk away from the conference venue.

By Plane

The closest airport is Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LIV), but many international flights will more conveniently arrive at Manchester Airport (MAN).

Manchester Airport
From Manchester Airport you can take a ‘direct’ train (approx £17 return and 1 hour and 4 min) or a direct coach (approx £13.50 return and 1 hr) to Liverpool Lime Street station or Liverpool One Coach station, respectively. Both are final stops located in Liverpool city center. However as mentioned above, Liverpool Lime street station is undergoing a major reconstruction. Please bear this in mind when planning your journey.

Liverpool Airport
From Liverpool John Lennon Airport, you can take bus 80A or 86A (approx 45 min) to city center. The 500 bus is usually faster (approx 25 min) but not available 24 hours. See bus timetables here
You can also take a taxi from LIV to your hotel or the conference for about £25 or less.
